In the field of collegiate marching bands, Frank Wickes is a legend. With a 30-year tenure at #LSU, he was, for many alumni, the only LSU band director they’ve ever known. I’m honored to have shared the pregame field of Tiger Stadium in the fall of 1989 with him leading the Golden Band from Tigerland. Rest in peace, Mr. Wickes.
For what it’s worth, I roll with “Modern Noir” as my @tweetbot icon, because @tapbot_paul once referred to that look as the “murder bird” and I find that amusing.
