The Gamecocks managed to wake up in the fourth quarter, and tied the game at 31 aside before succumbing to Mizzou. Steve Spurrier becomes the first SEC coach to lose at the Independence Bowl in thirteen straight appearances, ending the conference's streak. As if we needed another reason to dislike Spurrier.
